Let's talk about Friday Favorites

Hello Friends!

I know I said in my last post that I would be blogging a lot more but yet I again I failed on that promise. To be honest I tend to blog whenever I feel like expressing myself and this blog is more of a fun/creative outlet for me so I hardly believe I will ever have some sort of consistency.

Any who, I’m still alive.

Can you believe it’s AUGUST?!?! Like where did the time go? I’m just excited that my work BFF is coming back in three weeks. Yes, let the countdown begin.

Got a promotion at work so that has been extremely hectic but I’m so proud of myself for everything I’ve accomplished professionally. I’m still working out. I’m still tracking my macros and I actually got somebody that would calculate them for me. I have a lot of mixed feelings about that but I’ll come back to that later since I don’t know how to quite express them at the moment.

I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite things this week:
  1. Beef Burger with a side of broiled kabocha AND PICKLES. No joke, I’ve have been eating this same meal all week and it’s sooooo good. When I get on a food kick there is no gooing back.

  2. Also loving this cottage cheese fluff that Angela from Instagram came up with. Whenever I want ice cream but also want volume food I make this. It’s just cottage cheese, milk, ice cubes and I add a bit of frozen banana to make it extra creamy. I have a giant bowl of this every night topped with puffed kamut and strawberry.
  3. Macklemore & Ryan Lewi’s new song “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song) feat ED Sheeran. I’m pretty sure my co-workers hate me because I’ve had it ON REPEAT  ever since it came out

4.Naturally Magazine- Can’t put it down.

5.       This HIIT cardio circuit. Leaves me panting and sweating but I feel so good afterwards
a.       1 minute row
b.      5 rounds of Treadmill sprints: 30 secons on /30 seconds off
c.       Repeat four times.

Have a Faboulous Friday J

Dear Diary-2

I’ve come to the realization that I will never really be consistent with the whole “blog” thing and that’s ok with me. I kind of treat this like my personal diary even though I do have an actual “diary” that I write in every day. More so like a gratitude journal. As much as I want to write everything that I am feeling and thinking, these thoughts are very fragmented and random that it just does not work for me. Half the time I’m day dreaming about far off places that I want to travel, things I want to eat or replay scenarios that happened. I mean the internal monologues that I have are kind of ridiculous but kind of keep me sane since I tend to be a lone wolf and genuinely don’t know anybody that would tolerate all my thoughts, worries and scenarios. Lately I’ve been in this really weird funk of a mood and it all stems from this comparison trap that I fall into. You would think that at 26 years old I would be wise and experienced enough to know that nothing good comes fr...

Let's talk about my first time at the "House"

So I was cleaning out my drive and lo and behold I find this little gem. I wrote this little gem back in college and it's pretty cool seeing how much of an impact my Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles experience mad on me. I want to say that this was what sparked my love for pairing different flavors together. Enjoy!! Leaving the fog dense city of Westwood a band of brothers ensued on a journey to discover the marriage of chicken and waffles that has so many Los Angeles residents relishing in taste bud heaven. Like many on this trip, this would be my first time visiting The House of Chicken and Waffles.Jittering with excitement I sputtered a stream of questions to a veteran of this establishment: How exactly do I order? Is there anything else on the menu? Do I eat the chicken and waffles together in one bite or separately? I continued like a broken record player until we arrived at our destination, my car mates joyfully springing from their seats relishing the opportunity to put a...

Weight Loss: A Brief History

March 2014 November 2013. You know how when someone changes their life drastically you often wonder what their "Aahhhaaa"  moment must have been? Well mine came one day in August 2013 while I had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheeto puffs. It was hot, humid  and I remember wearing an old cheer tank top. I looked down and felt utterly gross as I saw my belly fat and flabby arms beading with sweat. I don't know why  but a feeling of self loathing rushed upon me, not because of how I looked but  for allowing myself to become  the person that had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheetos  without being hungry in the first place. Emotional eating had become the norm. June 2014 August 2014   SMALL. I started very small. My goal was to go an entire week without eating hot cheetos (yeah those suckers had me hooked like no other). Needless to say I relapsed. The addiction was too strong. But I was DETERMINED to prove to m...
