Let's talk about Friday Favorites

Hello Friends! I know I said in my last post that I would be blogging a lot more but yet I again I failed on that promise. To be honest I tend to blog whenever I feel like expressing myself and this blog is more of a fun/creative outlet for me so I hardly believe I will ever have some sort of consistency. Any who, I’m still alive. Can you believe it’s AUGUST?!?! Like where did the time go? I’m just excited that my work BFF is coming back in three weeks. Yes, let the countdown begin. Got a promotion at work so that has been extremely hectic but I’m so proud of myself for everything I’ve accomplished professionally. I’m still working out. I’m still tracking my macros and I actually got somebody that would calculate them for me. I have a lot of mixed feelings about that but I’ll come back to that later since I don’t know how to quite express them at the moment. I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite things this week: Beef Burger with a side of broiled k...

Long Time No See...

I’m back! Those few that follow me and read my blog ( THANK YOU! ) have noticed that I have not posted anything on here for the last two months. There were a lot of changes that happened in both in my personal and fitness life that made me fall into a bit of “funk”. I know two months is a long time to be in a “funk” but in all honesty I really lost a lot of my motivation and was only really going through the motions of everyday living. I feel a lot better now so I thought I post a little life update. First the good: I did my first 5K mud run. Challenging and fun at the same time. The experience was surreal and I've actually signed up to do another one in December. The before picture with my dad. My brother graduated from high school! WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO . Can’t believe he is no longer my “baby brother” anymore. The only good picture of the day. Now the not so great: The first change that lead drove me into my “funk” was my co-worker leaving on ma...

Let's talk about Washington DC Eats Day 1

I was sick as a dog this past weekend so my meals for the week are the same as last. Since I already posted about those meals, I thought I would take you on a brief  memory road and share what I ate when I vacationed in Washington DC. If last week's WIAW theme was "Full of Green" then this weeks theme might just be the opposite of that.  Onto the food for WIAW April 1, 2015 ….. Since I was only in DC for a couple of days, I decided to lace up my running shoes and go for a sunrise run along the national mall. It was the most breathtaking, eye opening run I have had in a LOOOONG time. A lot of reflection, enjoyment and pure bliss drove each pounding pavement step. How can you not help but have a huge smile with a view like this?!?!? Tidal Basin facing the Thomas Jefferson Memorial I was still learning my way around DC and I did not want to be late to some of the tours I had booked so I decided to grab something quick and on the go since I wasn't sure ...

Full of Green: What I Ate Wednesday 4.8.2015

Happy HuMp Day!! I don't know about you but I am more than ready for this week to be over. My body is feeling tired and worn out from the traveling last week to DC. Also I feel like I'm beginning to get a sore throat so I've been loading up on a bunch of greens, ginger tea and water because I am not in the mood to get sick anytime soon. Keeping my fingers crossed that all this helps! Despite being tired from my flight on Saturday I managed to meal prep on Sunday because I knew I would be completely tempted to reach for those foods that make me feel sluggish. Meal prep is a life saver for me so I usually always eat the same main meals for the entire week but I like to "spice" things up with my snacks :) For my very first What I Ate Wednesday my food was FULL of green! Post work out Green Smoothie  Woke up and headed to the gym to do some morning cardio. Post work out Breakfast #1 was a green smoothie made with 1/2 scoop of Nature of Life Vanilla Prot...

Weight Loss: A Brief History

March 2014 November 2013. You know how when someone changes their life drastically you often wonder what their "Aahhhaaa"  moment must have been? Well mine came one day in August 2013 while I had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheeto puffs. It was hot, humid  and I remember wearing an old cheer tank top. I looked down and felt utterly gross as I saw my belly fat and flabby arms beading with sweat. I don't know why  but a feeling of self loathing rushed upon me, not because of how I looked but  for allowing myself to become  the person that had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheetos  without being hungry in the first place. Emotional eating had become the norm. June 2014 August 2014   SMALL. I started very small. My goal was to go an entire week without eating hot cheetos (yeah those suckers had me hooked like no other). Needless to say I relapsed. The addiction was too strong. But I was DETERMINED to prove to m...

Hello There!

Hi, My name is Susanna and welcome to my blog! I decided to create "Healthified Lifestyle" to expand on my continued weight loss journey that I've shared on  Instagram  and go more in depth than just a picture with a brief description. I plan to share more in depth posts of my weight loss but for now, I leave you with a couple questions you may have about me: A little about me : I'm 23 years old in have lived my entire life in California. Grew up in a small town then moved to Los Angeles for college and I'm now back in my hometown working as a paralegal. A few of my favorite things include reading, drinking coffee/tea, baking, cooking and endlessly looking at my favorite blogs for recipes. For so long I struggled with being truly happy about myself instead of putting my fake cheer smile and moving on with life. My unhealthy eating habits and emotional eating led me to be overweight (putting it kindly) for the majority of my life. I never knew what it meant t...
