Let's talk about Friend's advice on how to talk to "my gym hottie"

Since I’m basically like bambi barely learning how to walk I’ve been getting a lot of advice on how I should approach “my gym hottie” and how to find out if he is interested.
Someone points out the obvious “just be super flirty with him” to which I blankly stare because I have no clue what being “flirty means.” Upon further inquiry my friend tells me to just get close to him and “you know” touch him. She then demonstrates this flirtatious act. Yeah….. I don’t know how that would work out. Do I just go up and pet this person? How do you get close to someone at the gym without making it awkward by touching them? This technique does not seem it will work out too well considering that I tense up and become a spastic mess in front of him. I’m totally nailing the flirting thing if he finds my rambles or sarcastic comments amusing but I have no clue if he does so the verdict is still out.

I’m also told “Why don’t you just ask him out?” Considering that I am a very blunt and straightforward person, I think this is a great idea….. in theory. TRUST ME when I say that I have no problem voicing my opinion or telling people how I feel about them BUT dating is foreign territory to me.  I’m basically Erin Brockovich in my day to day interactions.  However, Erin Brockovich is nowhere to be found when I see and interact with him. Asking him out is straight up out of the questions. I can’t even string coherent sentences that aren’t full of random rambles or sarcastic comments. How am I supposed to ask him out when I make no sense? Also if he is completely disinterested in me, I want to still be able to talk to him and me asking him out and getting rejected would just be a whole lot of awkwardness that I don’t think I could handle. Not happening.

Another one was “why don’t you try to find out where he works or where he likes to hang out? You can go there and maybe bump into him. ”. So basically she wants me to stalk him. Don’t get me wrong. I am an amazing social media stalker but  I draw a line when it comes to embarking on a full on Amazing Race-type of journey. I like him just not to the point of obsession.  I’m thinking that he would most likely think I’m a creepy human being and would probably get a restraining order against me. I’m trying to find out if he is interested in me, not turn him away. Somehow I feel like she might be just as lost with dating as I am but she has a boyfriend so what do I know?!? Let’s just say I don’t think I’ll be following this advice any time soon.

So much advice, so little time. I’ll keep you posted and by you, I mean the inner monologue I have every time. If you did read this then I love you and you should probably give me more advise because your girl needs A WHOLE LOT OF HELP.

Dear Diary-2

I’ve come to the realization that I will never really be consistent with the whole “blog” thing and that’s ok with me. I kind of treat this like my personal diary even though I do have an actual “diary” that I write in every day. More so like a gratitude journal. As much as I want to write everything that I am feeling and thinking, these thoughts are very fragmented and random that it just does not work for me. Half the time I’m day dreaming about far off places that I want to travel, things I want to eat or replay scenarios that happened. I mean the internal monologues that I have are kind of ridiculous but kind of keep me sane since I tend to be a lone wolf and genuinely don’t know anybody that would tolerate all my thoughts, worries and scenarios. Lately I’ve been in this really weird funk of a mood and it all stems from this comparison trap that I fall into. You would think that at 26 years old I would be wise and experienced enough to know that nothing good comes fr...

Let's talk about my first time at the "House"

So I was cleaning out my drive and lo and behold I find this little gem. I wrote this little gem back in college and it's pretty cool seeing how much of an impact my Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles experience mad on me. I want to say that this was what sparked my love for pairing different flavors together. Enjoy!! Leaving the fog dense city of Westwood a band of brothers ensued on a journey to discover the marriage of chicken and waffles that has so many Los Angeles residents relishing in taste bud heaven. Like many on this trip, this would be my first time visiting The House of Chicken and Waffles.Jittering with excitement I sputtered a stream of questions to a veteran of this establishment: How exactly do I order? Is there anything else on the menu? Do I eat the chicken and waffles together in one bite or separately? I continued like a broken record player until we arrived at our destination, my car mates joyfully springing from their seats relishing the opportunity to put a...

Weight Loss: A Brief History

March 2014 November 2013. You know how when someone changes their life drastically you often wonder what their "Aahhhaaa"  moment must have been? Well mine came one day in August 2013 while I had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheeto puffs. It was hot, humid  and I remember wearing an old cheer tank top. I looked down and felt utterly gross as I saw my belly fat and flabby arms beading with sweat. I don't know why  but a feeling of self loathing rushed upon me, not because of how I looked but  for allowing myself to become  the person that had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheetos  without being hungry in the first place. Emotional eating had become the norm. June 2014 August 2014   SMALL. I started very small. My goal was to go an entire week without eating hot cheetos (yeah those suckers had me hooked like no other). Needless to say I relapsed. The addiction was too strong. But I was DETERMINED to prove to m...
