Dear Diary- 1

Hey what's up hello. I basically treat this blog as my own personal diary because writing in an actual diary takes a) a lot more time than typing on here and b) I forget what I actually want to talk about since it takes a while for me to finish one sentence.

So I guess.... Dear Diary,

Here are a lot of random thoughts I've been having and/or talking to myself about:

I've been getting into this new habit of going to bed early and waking up early to walk before I go in to work and let me tell you....GAME CHANGER. I feel so much more energized because I'm actually getting around 6-7 hours of sleep v. the 4 hours I was getting before and I'm walking, enjoying the chirping of the birds and the fresh air instead of   waking up first thing in the morning and scrolling through instagram. I read somewhere that every successful person has a morning routing that set their day off in the right track so I'm really trying to **actively** make a morning routine with just this little change.

I've been digging oatmeal with strawberries and cashews lately. So much yumm.

Today was a great day because I did my taxes and this broad does not have to write the IRS a check. Praise Jesus Hallelujah!!! This means more money in my savings and on the road to being debt free since one of my major goals before turning 30 (gasp!) is to pay off all my student loans and credit cards that I have. Still have some time but I really want to make this a priority this year.

Another major goal is travel more because I have no strings attached. No kids, no husband, nothing holding me back. Which is kind of sad if you think about it, but I'm trying to become a bitter and sad and depressed so I'm going to pretend it's great to not have all these things to consider. Or at least not start to think that I will be #singleforever.

Got my eyebrows done today and I feel like a brand new woman! My eyebrow lady is not shy about telling me about how "terrible" they looked so now all I can thing about is how big of a hot mess I have been these past two weeks. I shudder, just thinking about all the conversations I had with some handsome AF guys and me with my bushy AF eyebrows. The agony. The horror!

Speaking of handsome AF guys, there is this new guy that started coming to my gym and lets just say he is *drool* worthy. He is a dark glass of chocolate milk and I need to find a way to strike up a conversation. I don't have one liners that I use on guys but I do use the excuse of offering chalk to them as a way to start a conversation. Haven't seen this guy do something that requires chalk so not sure if that will work. Sigh. He's so good looking. I just can't.

Ughhhhh... almost forgot! I finally freaking found the feta cheese that had been out of stock at Trader Joes for the past month. Saw it and immediately shrieked with excitement. I freaking love cheese and this is the absolute best feta I've had so I grabbed two packages and I'm seriously contemplating going for more tomorrow. Would it be too much? They don't expire until September so I should be solid.

I had a dream that I was back in mexico with a big ole basket of my favorite bread. Too bad it was just a dream. I swear cheese and bread are my love languages. I just want to live off those two things and not have to worry about gaining weight. That would be living the life!

Saw Coco and bawled my eyes out. Such a good movie.

Until next time!

Dear Diary-2

I’ve come to the realization that I will never really be consistent with the whole “blog” thing and that’s ok with me. I kind of treat this like my personal diary even though I do have an actual “diary” that I write in every day. More so like a gratitude journal. As much as I want to write everything that I am feeling and thinking, these thoughts are very fragmented and random that it just does not work for me. Half the time I’m day dreaming about far off places that I want to travel, things I want to eat or replay scenarios that happened. I mean the internal monologues that I have are kind of ridiculous but kind of keep me sane since I tend to be a lone wolf and genuinely don’t know anybody that would tolerate all my thoughts, worries and scenarios. Lately I’ve been in this really weird funk of a mood and it all stems from this comparison trap that I fall into. You would think that at 26 years old I would be wise and experienced enough to know that nothing good comes fr...

Let's talk about my first time at the "House"

So I was cleaning out my drive and lo and behold I find this little gem. I wrote this little gem back in college and it's pretty cool seeing how much of an impact my Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles experience mad on me. I want to say that this was what sparked my love for pairing different flavors together. Enjoy!! Leaving the fog dense city of Westwood a band of brothers ensued on a journey to discover the marriage of chicken and waffles that has so many Los Angeles residents relishing in taste bud heaven. Like many on this trip, this would be my first time visiting The House of Chicken and Waffles.Jittering with excitement I sputtered a stream of questions to a veteran of this establishment: How exactly do I order? Is there anything else on the menu? Do I eat the chicken and waffles together in one bite or separately? I continued like a broken record player until we arrived at our destination, my car mates joyfully springing from their seats relishing the opportunity to put a...

Weight Loss: A Brief History

March 2014 November 2013. You know how when someone changes their life drastically you often wonder what their "Aahhhaaa"  moment must have been? Well mine came one day in August 2013 while I had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheeto puffs. It was hot, humid  and I remember wearing an old cheer tank top. I looked down and felt utterly gross as I saw my belly fat and flabby arms beading with sweat. I don't know why  but a feeling of self loathing rushed upon me, not because of how I looked but  for allowing myself to become  the person that had just finished eating an entire bag of Hot Cheetos  without being hungry in the first place. Emotional eating had become the norm. June 2014 August 2014   SMALL. I started very small. My goal was to go an entire week without eating hot cheetos (yeah those suckers had me hooked like no other). Needless to say I relapsed. The addiction was too strong. But I was DETERMINED to prove to m...
